Second, (for structure, Chapter 15) assess the organizational structure (mechanistic or organic), along each element of the bureaucratic model (specialization, command and control, span of control, centralization, and formalization). Does the structure fit the external environment (simple/complex, stable/unstable)?
3. Third, (for change, Chapter 16) consider one change to enhance team effectiveness and identify one dimension of change (scope, level or intentionality), one assumption about change (i.e., deficit-based, abundance-based, etc.), and then apply each step of the Kotters 8-step change model to implement the change.
