First provide some background on the issue substance abuse and alcohol consumption amoung youths in the Lower East Side of New York for a social marketing campaign project. What's the problem that you're seeking to address? It had been said that Social Marketing seeks to address "wicked problems." Is your issue a wicked problem? If so, why? Describe the population affected by (or causing) this issue ... What are relevant elements of their lifestyle that are important to your project? Are racial, ethnic, or low-income groups disproportionately affected? In other words, is there a social justice component to this issue? E.g. smoking, soda consumption, and asthma are all more prevalent among lower income people. Attached below are some examples of projects completed by students in previous cohorts of this class.
