You are going to simulate the ventilation network for the rooms displayed in the attached map with the help of the software CASALS (50 Hz option). To do the simulation the dimensioning of ducts is initially needed and at the end of it the pressure drop of the net and the fan requirements will be given to select one from a commercial catalogue. Different rooms and layouts would be simulated.
Case study 1 Start simulating just the engineering and director rooms, without valves, of the net drawn below. Each overture is expected to delivery around 700 m3/h of flow capacity. Case study 2 Then add the meeting room and repeat the simulation. Each overture is also expected to delivery around 700flow rate m3/h of flow capacity.
1.1-)Complete the following informations with the velocity and duct size for both case studies:pipe line-->flow rate(m^3/h)--->section(m^3)---Dep(m)--->Velovity(m/s)
1.2-)Answer these questions for both case studies
1. Which flow does your net have? 2. Which pressure drop P does your net have? 3. Now look at the valves. With the aim of isolate each room from the others, would you place the valves where they are placed in the draw? If not, please draw your new proposal.

Power & Efficiency Price Good match in the performance curve Look for the price in the catalogue that you will find in the online catalogue prices, and explain your choice indicating all the previous parameters. Finally, answer these questions: 4. If you had the chance to choose the way the ducts are displayed, would you have chosen the same configuration? Why? Please draw it.5. When iterating, does your net becomes red? If not, please force that situation. Why is this phenomenon occurring? 6. Which equation does the program use to... a....calculate de net pressure drop? b....calculate the friction factor?
