FN 355: LifeCycle Final Project 100 POINTS Due Date: Presentations will be IN CLASS on April 24th or April 26th. All written papers should be submitted in Canvas by 11:59pm April 26th For this assignment, you will research a selected topic pertaining to a stage of the life cycle we have studied this semester. You could choose to research a disease/syndrome that is prevalent within your stage of life, a program/campaign that is aimed at disease prevention, nutrition awareness, etc. within your stage of life, or an emerging research topic. Your topic does not have to be completely nutrition related, but should include some aspect of nutrition (special dietary needs, nutrition implications, etc.) Please do not choose a topic that we have already studied in depth in class. There will be a written and oral portion to this assignment. The written paper should be typed, double spaced, in length, using 12 point Times New Roman font. You should include a cover page with your name and the stage of the life cycle and topic you selected (this does NOT count towards the 4-6 page requirement). Grammar and spelling will count against you, so please proofread and use spell check!! You should include research from at least five (5) peer- reviewed journal articles in your paper. You may also use other credible resources (books, Internet sources, etc). You should provide a reference page at the end of your paper (NOT included in the 4-6 page length). You may use either MLA or APA style, whichever you use in your discipline. The paper will be worth 60 points. You will then be required to prepare a Power Point presentation on your topic to present to the class. The presentation should be 5-7 minutes in length and should highlight the major topics in your written paper. The oral presentation will be worth 40 points: 20 points will be graded by the instructor and the remaining 20 will be graded by your peers. YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR TOPIC TO ME BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12TH FOR APPROVAL!!
