For Assignment $2,$ you are operating as an estimator working for one of the tendering

contractors. it is important to appreciate that your role has changed. In previous assignment

$($assignment $1),$ you were operating in the manner of a cost consultant or quantity surveyor

representing the client. Your task, simply stated, was to prepare a tender document $($BQ$),$

which would be sent to several contractors. These contractors would then use the BQ to

prepare their bid in competition with other contractors to win the project. Now, your task is

to operate on the contractor side as an estimator to bid on the tendering project.

You are required to calculate unit rates for the items within the following work sections of

$$Iona College $$ New Classrooms Building$,$ which appear in your BQ for the project in

assessment $1$:

$$ Groundworks items.

$$ Concrete, items for pad footings, strip footings and ground floor slab.

$$ Formwork, items for pad footings, strip footings and ground floor slab.

You are required to use you the works and prepare BQ in accordance with the requirements

of the Standard Method of Measurement that are applicable in Australia $($i$.$e$.$ based on

ANZSMM$).$
