For each module, you will be required to post a newspaper article passage. The Newspaper Article assignment is your comfort space to chronicle your learning throughout the course and to link what you learned in the class with what is outside the borders of this classroom. Reporting encourages freely and openly discussing ideas, debating, and pointing to past and current issues. This is a chance to understand contemporary events and to have ownership of content that you create. Reporting is great for experimentation, developing analysis, articulating your ideas, and developing a critical and analytical voice to respond to various contemporary issues. By reporting on important historical and current events, you will be able to relate happenings of the past and how they get a better understanding of your society.

Instructions

First think of a unique, catchy, and descriptive title for your newspaper article. As you are thinking of the title, think about your tone of voice, theme, and how you will divide the content according to the module themes. Then write your article based on the prompt below. Make sure you include an answer to the question to the contemporary question following the prompt. Submit your newspaper article in Blackboard.

Module 2 Newspaper Article Prompt: There were many economic forces that engendered and bolstered colonial slavery.What evidence is there from your own experience, or from American culture in general, that economics (money) can stimulate immoral behaviors?

Contemporary Question: What has the desire for money caused people to do? What political, economic, or social issues can be directly related to money, greed or the desire to get rich? Are African Americans the beneficiaries of these issues? Why or Whynot?
