For the discussion post this module, you will work a letter to the editor that relates to your advocacy project. Follow the steps below to research and work on the letter. (homelessness)

1. Choose the newspaper or publication that you want to submit to. This should be a publication that accepts letters to the editor in real life. (homelessness)
2. Work on the letter to the editor.
3. Post the letter to this discussion board.
   • In addition to the letter itself, include the link to the publication's instructions for submitting a letter to the editor. For an example, review the Rapid City Journal Submit a Letter to the Editor pageLinks to an external site.. This is Dr. Lane's hometown newspaper!
   • If you can't find the guidelines, include the link to the page within the publication where letters to the editor are published, and use the guidelines outlined on the M6: Lecture page.

You are not required to actually submit your letter to your chosen publication, but you will receive an automatic full credit for the discussion if you do. If you'd like another set of eyes on it before you submit, feel free to email it to the instructor (with two days of lead time for review).
