$2.$ Characterise the environmental impact of the exhaust fan through a life cycle analysis using the MET $($Materials$,$ Energy, and Toxicity$)$ matrix as an analysis tool, in terms of pollution, taking up resources, energy use, over its designed lifetime. find and use relevant materials property, engineering and environmental data and charts from the literature or from a materials property database such as the GRANTA CES Edupack to justify your analysis, discussion and conclusion.

$3.$ Propose and justify a more sustainable engineering approach to designing, manufacturing and especially maintaining the engineering structure based on life cycle analysis and green engineering thinking. Propose and justify new efficient low carbon footprint materials for the engineering structure and verify it with a life cycle analysis. Based on the analysis, what would be the most sustainable approach to managing this engineering structure in the future? Should it be re$-$built using more sustainable design and materials, or be maintained$/$refurbished in order to extend its service life?
