For the Week $2$ Skill Building Activity, you will consider the following:

The opening case, $$The Dark Side of Big Data$$ in Chapter $4$ on pages $123-124,$ discusses how organizations are mining big data looking for ways to benefit from the technology. Some of the uses of big data technology are very beneficial to people as well as organizations, while other uses are more beneficial to organizations than to people. Still, other uses of big data technology are questionable and may be considered as detrimental to people based on profiling and targeting the vulnerable, less fortunate individuals in society.

Review the examples in the opening case and the examples in Table $4\mathrm{.}1.$ Choose at least two of the examples from the opening case or Table $4\mathrm{.}1$ or research to find your own examples. Utilize the ethical analysis five$-$step process outlined in the chapter on page $132$ to analyze the examples you choose. Make sure to provide an explanation for each of the five steps in the ethical analysis process. Next, review the candidate ethical principles on page $132$ and $133$ to determine which ethical rules or principles you should use to decide whether the situation is ethical or not. Give your reasoning for the principles or rules that you choose to utilize. Lastly, decide if the situation is ethical.
