For this assignment, open MS Access. In the last assignment, I asked you to run a report by student and by semester for all the students in the database. It turns out that this report cannot be created because you dont have the relationships you need to add fields to a report that reside in different tables. MS Access wont let those reports work because it cannot figure out, for example, which students took what courses (i.e., there is no relationship between the student table and the section table, or between the section table and the course table).
In this assignment, I want you to use the tables that you created in the previous assignment (I have provided those tables in the attached file) and add the relationships between the tables. Use the attached MS Access file to start, add the primary keys, add foreign keys, add the relationships, and then enter the data into the tables. Use the Lookup Wizard to create the relationships. The Lookup Wizard is a drop down option in the Data Type field on the Design View of a table.
Once relationships and data are added, run a report by student and by semester for all the students in the database that answers the question: How many students took each course? You dont need to print the report. Just create the report and make sure it works in MS Access. Below are the fields to include in your report.
Course Abbreviated Subject - Abbreviated course department (e.g, BINS, ACCT, MGMT, etc.)
Course Identifying Number - Course number (e.g., 3305, 3300, 4331, etc.)
Course Long Name - (e.g., Management Information Systems, Management of Information Resources, Project Management, etc.)
Instructor Name - The instructor's first name, middle initial, and last name.
Student Full Name The student's first name, middle initial, and last name. If you dont want to, you do not have to use your real name.
Student Major - (e.g., Accounting, Business Information Systems, Management, Finance, etc.)
When you are done, save the MS Access file and turn it in under the assignment. Also, turn in an MS Word document explaining what you learned when you ran the report.
