For this assignment students are required to draw on A3(11''17'') format sheets, a wall section of the building shown schematically in image 1.1 below, at
125 scale and three details (parapet, window head, and sill) at 15 scale
The wall section should show the floor levels, proper labelling, and use break lines if needed to fit your wall section to the paper space. A simple outline is
attached here which is done at the correct scales and shows the layout that is possible.
The details should elaborate the connection details of the different materials and the methods used to control: air, water vapour, liquid moisture, and thermal
bridging and temperature.
Note: This assignment is an individual assignment.
Construction Materials:
Inverted roof system
Concrete slabs - thickness 150mm
EIFS wall system on 150mm(nominal) metal studs, containing no more than 13 of the total insulation
Gypsum board interior finish
Thermally broken aluminium window frames with double glazed insulated glass unit (IGU)
Prefinished aluminium flashings to match colour of window frames
Sealants to match colour of EIFS
Drawing Requirements:
Manual Drafting Exercise as well as content creation (CAD drawing will not be accepted)
A3(11''17'') size sheet
Scales 1:25 and 1:5
Use proper drawing layout (title blocks, scale, etc.)
