For this assignment, you are answering a request for information in a memo. The request was for census date to help Waterworld business decide if a new waterpark will be worth investing in. They have asked for the census data for three cities where they are planning future activity. These three cities are Ann Arbor, MI, Jackson, MI, and Grand Rapids, MI.
You will then want to search for each of those cities and census 2010 2020. This will give you the numbers that are needed to work through the memo and give the final recommendation.

Directions for Line Graph:
- On a new document, insert a new table that is 3 x 20.
- Decide on a unit for counting population and put it in the left-hand column (Arial 10). The number range needs to be greater than the numbers of the highest or lowest population total. Remember to keep the units between lines the same number. Right justify these numbers and hide the left border. Use the tab function to add as many rows as you need.
- Type 2010 under the first column divider, 2020 under the second column divider, and 2030 under the last column divider (Arial 10).
Adjust the columns by putting the cursor over the vertical line and waiting until the cursor turns into a double arrow to drag the line left or right.
- Insert the line to represent the population. Go to insert shapes and choose a line. Put the cursor over the 2010 line at the point where the population total is, hold down on the mouse and move it to the spot for the population in 2020. Use the line selector to choose the color of the lines. Make a short line under the table and label it with the city as a key (Arial 10). Repeat for all three cities.
- Insert the line to represent the projected growth in population. Go to insert shapes and chose a line. Put the cursor over the spot where that city is in 2020 and then make a straight line off that point to 2030. Change the line to a dotted line.
- Add the figure number and title under the line graph (Arial 12).
Directions For the Memorandum:

FINDINGS In this section, the census data for 2010 and 2020 are presented in one prose table for all three cities, and in a line graph, the numbers for 2010 and 2020 are extended to 2030 with a projection line. CONCLUSION In this section, the three cities are evaluated by the criteria set up in the first section.
