For this assignment, you will select an ethical issue based on the topics that were covered in Weeks 1, 2, 3, or 4 in the course that you find interesting and write a three-page analysis paper. Your objective is to critically analyze the ethical issue and reflect on the larger psychological literature base by integrating at least two peer-reviewed empirical journal articles that are related to your selected ethical issue in your write-up.

Parameters

Your ethical analysis paper should include the following:

  1. A thorough, one-to-two paragraph summary of the selected ethical issue that
    • Clearly describes the ethical issue
    • Summarizes the relevant section(s) of the APA Ethics Code that address the ethical issue you selected
    • Identifies potential harm to the public and/or the profession (e.g., patients, students, other professionals) associated with the ethical issue you selected
    • Discusses ways in which the ethical issue you selected can either be prevented and/or effectively addressed
  2. One to two paragraphs that concisely summarize the two peer-reviewed empirical articles that address the selected ethical issue.
  3. One paragraph discussing your reaction(s) to the ethical issue and the two journal articles that you selected (e.g., what you found interesting about this particular ethical issue; why you feel this ethical issue is especially relevant to psychological practice; what surprised you about the articles, etc.). This paragraph can (and should) be written in the first-person (i.e., it is okay to use "I").
  4. Correctly formatted APA references for the journal articles you selected
