For this exercise, we'll return once again to Rosen's text. Study how she introduces her sources throughout the text. Afterward, create a list of five different and unique rules-rules you'll ostensibly follow when writing in this course-about ways to introduce or integrate sources. After the rule, please include an example from Rosen's text. Example (from Ed Yong's essay "How the Pandemic Defeated America"): Rule Example: Introduce the quotation with a complete sentence to better contextualize and explain important in relation to thesis; Later, attribute the quote along with the importance/relevant of who or where the quote came from Example Example: "There are also a few signs that Americans are learning important lessons. A June survey showed that 60 to 75 percent of Americans were still practicing social distancing. A partisan gap exists, but it has narrowed. "In public-opinion polling in the U.S., high-60s agreement on anything is an amazing accomplishment," says Beth Redbird, a sociologist at Northwestern University, who led the survey." Rule One: Part Two: How Does Rosen Create Conversation? For this exercise, you'll need to look closely at pages 63-65 in So What? by Schick and Miller. As they note, "When we build sources into arguments, we not only clarify who our sources are, but we also tell our readers." Rosen's comprehensive article is heavily researched (notice the hyperlinks). She has dozens of sources throughout. She talks alongside her sources rather than expecting the sources to speak for themselves. How does Rosen create conversations in this essay? You'll want to look at the different points Schick/Miller include on those pages to closely analyze this aspect of Rosen's writing. Aim for around 750 words in this informal essay
