For this exercise, you can make up a scenario $-$ I want you to write out as much as you can about things you would get across in an opening statement. Often times, these come in to play at arbitrations $($like this video$),$ EEOC $($Equal Employment Opportunity Commission$),$ DOL Hearings $($Department of Labor$),$ and NLRB $($National Labor Relations Board$)$ ULP Hearings $-$ it comes in to play at mediations as well $-$ there are many situations where this skill will be needed.

In a couple of weeks, you are going to be recording yourself making an opening statement in response to a specific situation but before we jump to that $-$ get your practice started $-$ explain what you are want to say.
