For this final week you should CREATE and SOLVE your own ethical dilemma. The only caveat is that this dilemma must directly relate to the human services profession/field that you are or will be involved with in your professional life. The dilemma itself should be about a paragraph in length, must be of sufficient detail and realistic, and must apply to your chose profession. Answers should follow VBDM format as usual.

Step 1. Identify the ethical issue

- What's the issue at hand? What is at stake here?

Step 2. Gather the facts

- What facts are pertinent to the issue? What is relevant? What do we need to know in order to make an informed decision?

Step 3. Brainstorm solutions

- What could we do that would protect everyone's best interests? What would best promote human well being and human dignity?

Step 4. Weigh options

- What are the best possible reasons for choosing one solution over another here?

5. Draw a conclusion

- What fits with the criteria of a moral conscience and the rules and laws of the institutions by which we must also abide?
