For this Homework, students are allowed to directly write the equations of motion by inspection.

Please make sure to convert them from time domain to $s$ domain, where $s$ is the Laplacian

variable. If a student wants to draw the free body$/$Kinetic diagram$/$diagrams and then perform all

the necessary steps to write equations of motion by Newton's method then that is also good. At

the end, please make sure that students convert the equations of motion from time domain to $s$

domain
