ZON is a multinational producer of T-shirts. Their T-shirts are made up of good quality organic cotton and the price is high. However, given the good quality, consumers are willing to pay a price premium for their T-shirts. Currently, the company has severe problems to find good quality organic cotton in world markets. Farmers producing good quality organic cotton are not happy with the price and they are not willing to produce. To overcome this shortage of cotton ZON managers develop a new purchasing strategy; to give a price premium to the farmers and make long-term contracts.
