For this week's discussion, I chose to again focus on a situation involving oral health, as I am hoping to work as a dentist in the future and a lot of my current research is in oral health to prepare for that. A situation where regression would be an appropriate option for analysis is if we wanted to investigate the risk factors that are associated with dental caries in a given population. The dependent variable would be the presence or absence of dental caries. The independent variables, meanwhile, would include such things as sugar consumption, oral hygiene practices, and socioeconomic status. This would be appropriate because it allows for both a binary outcome and it has multiple predictors. I believe that the regression model will show that there are significant associations between the predictors and the presence of dental caries
