CASE STUDY: SUPPLY CHAIN OF NATIONAL FERTILIZERS LIMITED (A) National Fertilizer Limited has to fulfill supply contracts to its 4 main customers; 650 bags to Customer-1 , 800 bags to Customer-2, 950 bags to Customer-3, and 750 bags to Customer- 4 . It can meet this demand by shipping existing inventory from any of its three Warehouses. Warehouse-A has 1200 bags of inventory available, Warehouse-B has 1500 bags, and Warehouse-C has 800 bags. The company has taken the following policy decisions due to strategic reasons: Policy-1: At least 50 bags of fertilizer for Customer-2 will be shipped from Warehouse-C Policy-2: Warehouse-A will not supply to Customer-3 The shipping costs (in hundred Rs.) for one bag to be sent from each warehouse to each customer are given in the table below: The company would like to satisfy the demand for each customer in a way that will minimize the total supply chain cost
