This is a two step assignment. You must respond to one of your classmates to get full credit. Please complete this on time to ensure that you get peer feedback.

Step $1$ due January $23$

a$.$ Use library subject guides $($from Mason and$/$or other universities$)$ to identify your discipline's professional$/$advocacy groups. These should be non$-$academic groups.

b$.$ List at least two groups that you found.

c$.$ Browse the research to identify three current conversations in which non$-$academics are engaged.

d$.$ For each of the three conversations:

i$.$ Briefly describe the issue $/$ problem $(40-100$ words for each$).$

ii$.$ List one or two of the genres that the groups use to discuss the issue.

iii. Include a link to one or two examples of each genre listed in ii$.$

a$.$ Browse your peers' entries, looking for a discipline that is the same as or close to yours. If you cannot find a similar discipline, choose an entry that interests you in some way.
