EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
- Place the freefall apparatus on the desk and plug in the cord.
- Connect it to the laptop to use the graphical analysis software.
- Place the steel ball in the release mechanism by attaching the electromagnet to the top of the freefall apparatus.
- Place the pad where the ball falls to catch the ball-bearing.
- Turned the current to the electromagnet off to drop the steel ball.
- When the ball lands on the pad, the timing will stop. Read the time on and record this as time (s).
- Repeat the data taking the process at different heights for five trials.
