Question 1

To ensure her safety, I'd like to teach my daughter to never touch an electrical outlet. Give one example of how I could do this using the principles of classical conditioning and one example of how I could do this using the principles of operant conditioning (note: you need two examples to fully answer this question).

Question 2.

John is a 31-year-old prison inmate who will be paroled on good behavior in two weeks. He is well liked by the other inmates, and the warden considers him to be an excellent model of successful rehabilitation. John was imprisoned for assaulting his neighbor, and at his trial, he explained to the judge that "the green potato that floats just above his head" told him he needed to punch his neighbor in the face. Despite this incident in which the potato gave him bad advice, John credits his good behavior and rehabilitation to always following the potato's instructions while he was in prison. Using the 4 D's, determine if John's behavior is abnormal, and describe how you reached that conclusion.
