In addition to reading the Overview of Employment Legislation, it is important to become familiar with government websites that are focused on the application of this legislation, such as United States Department of Labor and ADA.

Paper Specifics:

You have been hired as the first corporate Hospitality HR Manager for a growing chain of boutique hotels with restaurants. An example of this type of hotel is the 21C Museum Hotels. Depending upon your personal area of interest in the hospitality industry, you may change the setting of your assignment (i.e. event planning business, cruise line, etc.), with the instructors permission.

The objective is for you to operationalize the course material into a set of guidelines for the newly forming positions of HR Manager at each of the hotel locations. The guidebook is set up by category. Each category contains 5 or more guidelines which new HR managers should follow to ensure a smooth operation. Use the textbook, additional reading assignments, websites, and supplementary videos assigned to you and those found in your research, to develop your personal Human Resource Manager's Guidebook. You may also draw knowledge from your own well of experience in the hospitality area. The guidebook should be your own creative work. It is a working document, with new sections added each week.

You then exit this course with a working document that can be used in an operational hotel/restaurant (or other approved hospitality industry sector) environment, providing invaluable insight into performing as a highly effective HR manager in the hospitality industry.
