This is an iterative process

General question -> search for data -> refine question -> deeper data dive -> finalize question

Google is a legitimate search option if you're looking for something specific

Choose the data that is challenging to you. In other words, choose a messy data

I highly recommend using public data

Do not use any data which has re-use restrictions.

Don't overlook Data wrangling: Data wrangling is a huge part of real-world data science raw data is almost never clean Data often must be incorporated from multiple sources Good data wrangling is impressive and a highly transferable and valuable skill

Don't be afraid to work with messy data or have the bulk of you project spent cleaning/wrangling data! Final project output:

Write an abstract describing the problem statement. You should define which problem your project solves, such as how to increase product sales, or extract the sentiment from reviews. You may write a short summary of your project, maximum 200 words. This represents a very first draft of the abstract of your paper. Now you can shorten your summary to a sentence. This is the temporary title of your paper. Deliverables: Submit a brief write of the project in the form of Abstract and also description of the Data set Include the references for the dataset. Make a presentation of 5 slides describing: (1 point each for the below questions) Problem statement Why are you interested in this project Why is it important to solve the problem What are the challenges in the dataset.
