When completing my first two degrees, there was not much emphasis on creating a network that would be beneficial to students once we graduate. After exploring the online forums available to us, I have concluded that they are the prime options to start creating an online network presence. I will seek out guidance from my university professors while also engaging in online meetings and conferences that are related to the field of chemistry. Additionally, I plan to utilize resources such as GCU blogs to stay updated on the current trends within my field while at GCU. Engaging in events, such as meetings and conferences that are relative to our field, allows us to view the current trends and make connections. Many students tend to get burned out with their content due to post-dated learning material and spending several years learning it. These meetings allow students to be reminded of the contributions they can make to their field while also giving them insight into new projects that they could potentially become part of after graduation
