Here are some tips to help build into this reflection: In the past, Fall of 2023 I had worked with a tutor about a research essay on Restricting Electronics in Classrooms. This essay was inspired from the works of Susan Dynarski's essay, "Take Notes with Pen and Paper,".I met with the tutor without making an appointment. I had used a Tutor who was in the older age group and i Met them at the academic achievement center for English tutoring to discuss. The tutor was a female in older age group. She had extensive knowledge on the topic, was friendly and spoke a lot on ideas on the topic. she gave me a couple suggestions on websites to use for my citations that helped me build my thesis and research essay.

In the present Summer semester 2024, we are working on research assignment based on the themes presented in Rutger Bregman's book utopia for realsists. I had planned on booking an appointment with a tutor to see what my options were in having a solid thesis and essay build up based on my draft in analyzing if the passage of time has affected the ideas presented by Bregman in advocating for a utopian society, but due to taking two accelerated summer classes, I couldn't manage my time well enough to have a tutor ahead. Consequently I was assigned a On-the-go Tutor, Mr Sean, a man in his middle years . He listened to my prompt like the other tutor in the past did and gave me one recommendation to look into an ongoing situation with a California experiment that could help my message while acknowledging that he has not read the book himself. But unlike the first tutor, no links were given to look into. My tututor was in a hurry but opened room for meeting to discuss more and help more. discussing helped me build confidence on where to start.

Moving forward, I think it is hard to tell what to expect from a tutor, but both experiences helped me build more confidence in where I could begin my research. I identified that managing my time efficiently helps me spend more time with a tutor to gain the best experience. I would like to use a tutor in the future. I realized it helped me gain more insights and perspective.

I would also in the future like to gain the perspectives of two different tutors of different age groups to see if it has an impact on how they analyze research topics."
