2. Your company has an attendance program that outlines the steps that will occur if an employee reaches certain absenteeism levels. Time to go into the future. In a six-month period in 2023, John has an innocent absenteeism level of 7 days (not consecutive). The seventh day occurs on July 15,2023. Your companys level is 6 days.
a. You are required to outline two things you woulddo to deal with Johns absenteeism.(2 marks)
3. After 10 years of continuous employment your company undergoes a reorganization and Johns position is made redundant. You are required to write a no-cause termination letter to John. The termination date is May 1st,2024 which is the same date as he will be notified.
a. First, outline what steps you will take to plan for the termination meeting, who will be included in the meeting, what will be said by whom and where and what time you will hold the meeting. (3 marks)
b. Then, write the no-cause termination letter. Mitigating variables to consider in the termination - John is 60 years old, has a high school education and plant is located in Paris, Ontario. Your letter must include 5 important clauses/statements (think to what we stressed in our class). I am not asking you to write an in-depth letter with appendices, I am only looking for your understanding of what is important to include.(5 marks)
c. Next calculate severance, termination, vacation, bonus and benefits entitlement as per ESA and common law (applicable case(s).(6 marks)
4. Finally, your company receives a reference request for John from another employer. Outline what you will include in your reference for John and who will provide it.(2 marks)
