Haley, great post this week! I could not agree more that practicing humility is an essential leadership skill! As time has passed in these classes and in my personal working experience, I have been surprised by how important this attribute is for a leader. I think when we are younger we see the "boss" or leader as someone loud and boisterous, who doesn't take anything from anyone else because they are in charge. As time has passed, I can see that is not what I want in a leader at all. I want someone humble that also sees me as a human. We all make mistakes and can learn from each other if we can bring ourselves to the same level as others. Compassion and empathy are two characteristics that are priceless in anyone. The whole world would function smoother if those attributes were prized the way they should be. Can you think of any other characteristics as important as those two?
