EPS Unit 1 Project: My Investigation Using the Scientific Method Name: Sophie Hastings Hour: 7th Date: 9/24/20 This project will be in place of a test on Unit 1. You have 2 weeks to plan and complete your experiment. You must get teacher approval after step 6 to carry out your investigation. Step 1 My Observation: The milk is filled with swirls of different food coloring as the Q-tip (applied with dish soap) was dipped into the milk. Step 2 My Inference (possible explanation) about my observation: The chemical composition of the dish soap caused a disruption in the milk's molecule composition (fat and protein) causing the food coloring to move with the milk's reaction to the dish soap. Step 3 My testable question: How would the food coloring within the bowl of milk react to the dish soap dipped into the milk. Step 4 My Hypothesis: If I dip dish soap into a bowl with milk and food coloring, then the food coloring will move away from the dish soap. Step 5 My variables: Independent variable (1 thing you change): 2% Milk EPS Unit 1 Project: My Investigation Using the Scientific Method Name: Sophie Hastings Hour: 7th Date: 9/24/20 This project will be in place of a test on Unit 1.
