FACTS:

Radical Designs, Inc. (RDI) is a Hawaiian corporation that owns the copyright to the Legato Master Certification Pamphlet and licenses Zen Triage instructors to conduct workshops and courses. Turnip Greens, LLC (TGL) is a Florida limited liability company owned by Ulrich Van Shopenstein. RDI discovered that TGL and Van Shopenstein well selling the certification pamphlets over their website for a profit without permission. TGL sold several copies of the pamphlet to residents in the state of California, making only about $2,500.00 in sales in California from 1999 to 2010. TGL has no office, property, or bank accounts in California. RDI brought a copyright infringement lawsuit against TGL in U.S. district court in California. TGL alleged that the California court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter.
