Hello Course Hero Tutor!

I would like to seek a help if you can check the following hypothesis testing problem.

Problem: The average length of time for students to register for fall classes has been 50 minutes with a standard deviation of 10 minutes. A new registration procedure using modern computing machine is being tried. If a random sample of 12 students had an average registration time of 42 minutes with a standard deviation of 11.9 minutes under the new system, test the hypothesis that the population mean is now less than 50. Use ?= 0.01 level of significance

I need the following informations:

  1. Test statistic: Use T-test or Z-test (whichever is appropriate)
  2. Critical value/region:
  3. Computations: (It's okay if you compute it in a paper and just scan it)
  4. Decision:Reject or Accept the Null hypothesis
