Hello!

I am having difficulty answering these true / false questions regarding a within subjects ANOVA (aka a repeated measures or crossover design):

  1. If the variability between subjects is greater than the variability between treatment groups, then you will always reject the first null hypothesis
  2. If the error variability is greater than the variability between treatment groups, then you will always fail to reject the first null hypothesis.
  3. If the variability between subjects is greater than the variability between treatment groups, then you will always reject the second null hypothesis.

If you could please explain why they are either true / false, that would be great!

Thank you!
