Question: Hello, I have to build a fully responsive website for an upcoming project for a class I'm taking. Unfortunately, I'm still a beginner at coding

Hello,

I have to build a fully responsive website for an upcoming project for a class I'm taking. Unfortunately, I'm still a beginner at coding in HTML and CSS so my ability to complete this extensive (for my skills) project is lacking. I have attached a Microsoft Word document with all of the instructions and requirements for the assignment as well as any information the professor wants included in the website. The assignment is due Tuesday October2nd, 2018. Please let me know if you have any questions for me. Thank you for your time.

CS2H: Web Apps & Games

Web Applications Project

Problem: You have been asked to design a site for a fundraiser for families affected by cancer. The fundraiser is called Swim for the Girls and takes place at a local swim club in the summer season. The main audience of the site is the members of participating swim teams. Parents, Coaches and Donors will use the site to get information and register their children. The site should also be constructed in a way that makes young athletes WANT to participate in the event.

Assignment:

Part 1:Use the Bootstrap framework and the content provided to build a site for Swim for the Girls. The site must contain the following requirements:

A nav bar with links and logo

A comprehensive form for applications to host an event

A form to join an event

A modal

A table

A card

A color theme or overwritten styles

Also, in the mobile age, the site should work equally well on cell phones, tablets and desktops.

As far as colors are concerned, any color scheme can be used. You have been provided a logo, but can feel free to create your own and stray from the given color palette. You will be asked to alter the original colors of Bootstrap in one of three ways:

Use a pre-built, free, downloadable theme

Overwrite Bootstrap with local CSS classes

EC Opportunity: Create a custom Bootstrap theme. If you stick to designing with the contextual colors (default, info, success, etc), you can make your original design and then change the site quickly with a custom theme. If you need help choosing a color scheme, use Adobe CC or another color generator (http://www.creativebloq.com/colour/tools-colour-schemes-12121430) to help. There are also a variety of tools available to create custom Bootstrap Themes such as (http://bootstrap-live-customizer.com/and http://getbootstrap.com).

If a form is described to the users in the content, that description is more for you to build the form. Forms should be well organized and user friendly. Think of this as the beginning of the Web App part of the course. A well designed and organized data collection method is the start of an effective application. While we cant process any of the forms, we can set up the interaction on the client side. This way, as we learn more techniques and code, we will be able to add to our application and make it work the way we want.

Parts 2 & 3:

In anticipation of the later parts of this project, the sitepage will need to have the following items:

A login location (could be part of the nav bar if desired) - for coaches and admins

An announcement/events section on the home page

Ideas for interactive content for future implementation

Overview

Swim for the Girls is a fundraiser event where boys wear a girl's bathing suit during the breaststroke race. Nor-Gwyn Swim Club has hosted the event annually since 2013 and has raised over $7,500 for families affected by breast cancer.

About

Started in 2013, Swim for the Girls is an annual fundraiser to support families affected by breast cancer. Conceived from a dare following a swim meet, the original event was organized by Will Neverosky, Luke Engel, Luke Neverosky, Lance Engel, Cortney Neverosky and Bryce Engel.

The event involves girls lending their suits to boys to wear over their own suit during the breaststroke races of the meet. Some boys even allow the girls to choose their full outfit including caps and goggles. All participants (both genders) are asked to raise money through pledges. Divers can participate as well by wearing a girls suit during the diving event.

At the event, there is typically a donation table that collects donations from participants, accepts donations from spectators and helps to coordinate the exchange of suits between the boys and girls. Spare suits can typically also be found at this table for any late entries or boys who were not paired up ahead of time.

All proceeds from the event each year are donated to The Breathing Room, located in Jenkintown, PA. The Breathing Room Foundation's mission is to 'strive to provide a family with whatever it is that will allow them a bit of breathing room from their daily struggle against cancer.' For more information about the Breathing Room, visit their site: http://www.breathingroomfoundation.org.

Get Involved

To get involved, boys are asked to complete a form that requests their name, team, age group and suit size. Girls then find a boy on their team of approximately the same suit size and sign up to supply that boy with a suit.
