Hello,

I'm facing difficulties in writing a constraint for a maximization optimization problem. Let us say that we are trying to find the optimal production plan for a product, say a desk. This desk is made up of 3 parts: a,b, and c in order to produce a desk you need 1 part of A, 2 Parts of B, and 3 parts of C. I am going to produce a,b, and c based on some other constraints I have, but this is not the problem. The problem is that I do not know how to write a constraint that determines the number of desks produced based on the number of parts a,b, and c produced. I understand the logic that we will decide the number of desks each of the parts produced can make based on their amount and then choose the smallest to be the number of desks produced, but I am not sure. Can anyone please help me in figuring out the right way to write this constraint? Please note that the objective of the problem I am solving is to maximize the profit, not the number of desks produced, yet I have a demand to meet, I have written constraints to meet the demand but I do not know how to write the constraint that says the production of desks to meet the demand relies on the three parts. Thank you.
