Hello, I'm having a hard time with this question in my math homework: "Explain how you know when you should use the following methods in trigonometry - #1: Primary trigonometric ratios, #2: Sine Law, #3: Cosine Law. Justify your reasoning for each one."
Initially, I wrote my answers that
For #1: It's used only for right angles, and you can use SOH CAH TOAH.
But, how do I justify my reasoning -- just that it's used when solving for a right angle triangle?
For #2, I wrote: You can only use this when there is no right angle. You also need to know the measurements of an angle and side. For #3, I wrote: Must be used when there is no right angle. Only use this law when you do not know any angle or side measurements.
I still am unsure how I can "explain and justify my reasoning" on how I know when to use each of the laws further, because each explanation is worth a lot of marks. Please let me know how I can improve each explanation, or if I made any mistakes? Thank you!
