Lauren Smith is the outside CPA for Sports Central, a chain of sporting goods stores. She has been asked to recommend a site for a new store. Lauren has an uncle who owns a shopping plaza in the area of town where the new store is to be located, so she decides to contact her uncle about leasing space in his plaza. Lauren also contacted several other shopping plazas and malls, but her uncles store turned out to be the most economical place to lease. Lauren is thinking about recommending locating the new store in her uncles shopping plaza. How would you advise Laura to handle this situation?

For as long as you can remember, you have looked up to your uncle, a CPA who owns his firm and has two bookkeepers as employees. Now that you are graduating from college, he has asked you to work with him and you pay a visit to his office for the first time. In looking around, you see piles of papers and ask him how he knows everything is done correctly and on time; he says that the firm quality control is his experience and he has no time for formal documentation. In addition, his employees have been with him forever, and he trusts their work completely. If you were your uncles client and heard this, how would you react to this?
