hello this is Benjamin sheppard. I am working on problem 2 of the module 2 homework. I copied and pasted the teachers solution to exercise 10. she is saying that the negation of a conjunction is a disjunction. so wouldn't ~(pq) = ~p v ~q. So on problem C of question 2, wouldn't the answer be, we cannot buy a book or we cannot go to a restaurant. I may just be confused by the wording. thank you

Which of the following statements is the negation of the statement?

2 is even and -3 is negative.

(a) 2 is even and -3 is not negative.

(b) 2 is odd and -3 is not negative.

(c) 2 is even or -3 is not negative.

(d) 2 is odd or -3 is not negative.

Remember, ~p indicates It is not the case that p.

In general, the negation of a conjunction is a disjunction, which eliminates answers (a) and (b).

As a result, the answer is (d).

(d) 2 is odd or -3 is not negative
