Many of us confuse character with reputation. Most of us do not understand that one's character may not match one's reputation, and a lot of us do not understand how different these two terms are. Character is true, and character is you. Reputation is NOT an unequivocal truth, and it is applied upon you by people from your society. In her text, Mary tells us about modesty and character. She states "A modest man is steady, an humble man timid, and a vain one presumptuous: - this is the judgment, which the observation of many characters, has led me to form. Jesus Christ was modest, Moses was humble, and Peter vain." We live in a religious country, most of us are aware of the teachings of the Christian bible. What do you gather from this quote?
