Help me write this to a scholarship : Rustic Pathways

it is a bit all over the place, and the conclusion needs work.

Teen summer opportunities vary widely. Some teens work during the summer. Some teens head off to summer camp. Some teens enjoy summer travel. What is the most meaningful summer experience you have had, and why? (under 500)

As my friends were catching waves and chasing sunsets, I spent my summer navigating the uncharted waters of a new realityturning a life-altering challenge into a mission to support others. My journey wasn't to a destination on a map, but to a place where I could transform personal struggle into a beacon of hope, facing the storm of a parent's disease

My mother's phone buzzed. She picked up the phone, and the smile on her face immediately dropped. She sat me down and said, "I have cancer."My mother had cancer, and there was nothing that I could do about it. The doctor told us she only needed chemotherapy, and then, she would be fine. I continued attending doctor's visits and working . Still, I had felt useless, powerless, and angry at the world. The one person who was the most important in my life was now gone. I was utterly lost. It was as if my shadow kept walking, and my body was left behind.

"You will need radiation," the doctor said to my mother. I could not breathe or think properly. Then, out of nowhere, "This is not fair, you lied," These words slip out of my mouth angrily. The doctor looked startled and apologized but said there was nothing else he could do. But why? Why was there nothing else that anyone could do? So, I took out my phone and learned what I could do.How can I help my parent with cancer?

Give them words of encouragement

Cook for them

Learn as much as you can

So, I did. I cooked nutritious meals; I researched everything there is to know about cancer and treatments, sat her down, and told her she was doing fantastic. I drove her to her radiation sessions, and I could once again see a trace of a smile on my mother's face. I could see a trace of hope in her eyes. This hope carried throughout the entirety of my household. My mother's laugh echoed through the halls, and her smile radiated throughout the room. Happiness and calmness were once restored. We all could relax, and our bond strengthened; and a stronger relationship was built.

In my free time, I began writing. I was able to write about my mother's journey and let out all of my emotions that I had repressed, some feelings I had never come to terms with. I turned this into a guide for children whose parents have cancersomething to help children of cancer patients, even if it is just a little. When I shared my guide with some teens close to me and asked for their feedback, they said they felt seen. They related to the guide and that these resources have helped them extraordinarily. Giving these children hope made me believe my voice was powerful and influential. It made me feel accomplished because it is what I would have needed during this time, and I am giving teens some hope and a feeling of power during this difficult time.

So, while other teens....
