Question:
: Russia has also alleged repeated U.S. intervention in its internal sovereign affairs and of improperly intervening in regional affairs concerning the issue of Crimea. Most recently, allegations of trying to influence Ukraine by both empires have emerged.
So i need arguments and facts in favor of RUSSIA because i will represent RUSSIA in the US vs RUSSIA argument. I need 2-3 pages on my part which i highlighted above. The whole presentation is below:
Issue: The United States and Russia have had a long and complex relationship in the past century, stemming from war allies to Cold War enemies, to now tense and yet also close relations. After the 2016 presidential elections, Russia was accused of interfering in the elections, including to help support Donald Trump’s bid for President. Under the Trump administration, allegations of fraud and corruption, spying, undemocratic intervention and sanctions have emerged, as well as an overly friendly tone from the White House towards Russia. Russia has also alleged repeated U.S. intervention in its internal sovereign affairs and of improperly intervening in regional affairs concerning the issue of Crimea. Most recently, allegations of trying to influence the Ukraine by both empires has emerged. Both countries are alleged to be supporting opposite sides in the Syrian civil war, further driving divisions in the region and between the two countries. What are the current issues that remain and how will the countries resolve on-going disputes? What does each side need to come to the negotiation table, and what are they asking for?
Overview of assignment: Each side will research and present the arguments of the nation you have been assigned. You will act as government officials representing your government before an international forum (you can choose the forum, just make sure it’s an appropriate one). You will present your arguments and try to convince the trier of fact (in this case, your classmates not participating in the presentation will serve as the jury) that your position is the correct one. You will present both your arguments and any defenses you think appropriate.
Written assignment: Each team must turn in an 8 – 10 page paper (double spaced) on the day of the presentation. The paper must include the names of all team members, which side you represent and an outline of the issues you are arguing, including an introduction and conclusion. Each point of argument should present the factual issues, your argument as to your position and what you are asking for, and applicable international law, policy or norms. Each point you make needs to be accompanied by relevant international law and placed in a context of international legal principles and norms. Division of research and writing can be decided among the team, but only one grade will be assigned for both the presentation and paper, and it will be given to the whole group (meaning each person in the group will receive the same grade).
