I would like to add a second discussion board this week relating to the Coronavirus. Feel free to comment on either discussion board topic. I felt we needed to address this since the class is about community health and medical care.

In the efforts to control the epidemic, transparency is a key principle to let citizens know how to protect themselves and to let medical and public health personnel know which effective and appropriate interventions should be taken. What have you learned so far about this virus and do you believe the ethical principle of transparency was followed? What steps can individuals take to help control the spread of the virus?

The U.S. population is growing older and the number of elders in America has increased significantly. There is no question that health behaviors and social factors play important roles in helping elders maintain health later in life. Discuss 2 factors that play a major role in preventing or delaying the onset of chronic diseases in the elderly. Explain why each factor is so important.
