Hi Class, Project management, at its core, is defined as the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and other techniques to project activities in order to meet project requirements (PMI, 2021). When thinking of projects, programs, and portfolios, it's important to remember that there are different layers of work management. While similar, each has its own focus and leadership approach. Simply put, programs can encompass one or more projects, while portfolios can encompass several programs and projects (Hertviz, 2021). When thinking about leadership and versus management, it's important to understand that both aim to achieve project goals and objectives. To demonstrate leadership in program management, one must be able to inspire and empower the team towards a shared strategic vision. Effective leaders lead by example. Whether dealing with a project, program, or portfolio, effective leaders use influence, vision, and communication to drive success. Leaders must always remember that effective leadership is not a one-size-fits-all box. It takes blending styles, continuing skill growth, and leveraging motivators (PMI, 2021)
