Question:
1. Select your study area with a road network.
You are expected to use any online map service (such as Google Map, HERE we go, Waze, etc.) and make sure that the road network (abstracted from the real roads) can connect the centroids of all TAZs.
2. Define TAZs (preferably 4-8 TAZs ) Find Demographic Data from census database or websites for trip generation. (e.g., if you use ITE trip rate tables, you may need zone population, industrial employment, retail employment, total cars in zone, median zone household income, total dwelling units in zone, zone area, etc. ).
However I am not sure how to find the TAZ and if the area I selected has enough area to support this. While the area I selected is completely different, I would like to ask if there is a way to explain how to define the TAZs of a location ( just about 3 maybe so I can get the gist of it). Any area you choose is fine, I simply would like an example of what to do so I can apply it to the area I have chosen.
