Question 2. [14 marks] (1) In order to assess the ability of a drug to stabilize blood pressure, a multivariate random sample of size n is obtained from n patients where from each patient a p-element vector is obtained which measures blood pressure of that patient on p consecutive days. The hypothesis we wish to test is Ho: My = #2 = .-- =Hp where it represents mean blood pressure on day t after taking the drug. Explain how to perform this test. (Give as much details as you can.) (2) Now suppose that the doctor suspects that this blood pressure medicine may affect differently on males and females. (i) Specify a particular hypothesis to test the doctor's suspicion. (ii) Provide a detailed procedure to test the hypothesis specified in (i).
