(b) Sam decides to aim for an average speed of 13 km/h over a longer run of 7.3 km. Calculate the time that this run will take, giving your answer in minutes, correct to one decimal place.

(c) After a few weeks, Sam is fitter and more ambitious. He uses a map with a scale of 1 : 25 000 to plan a longer run. The distance on the map is 43.7 cm. Calculate the corresponding distance on the ground. Give your answer in km correct to three significant figures.

(d) The lowest point of the run is 55 m above sea level, and the highest point is 229 m above sea level. Let h represent the height in m above sea level.

(i) Explain what the inequality h 229 means in this practical context.

(ii) Draw a number line to illustrate the range of heights above sea level encountered on the run.

(iii) Give a double inequality, using h, to describe the range of heights above sea level encountered on the run.
