PROGRAM PLANNING This assignment is an opportunity for students to experience the necessary steps in developing and implementing a group activity, program or exercise for a target audience. Individually or in pairs students will develop two group activities: one for the population at their placement and one for their classmates (if you are doing this in pairs you can choose one of the placement sites). You will then facilitate the activity to your classmates on dates assigned in class. REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES Part1- Planning Templates 10% You are required to submit 2 completed Planning Templates, one for the placement population and one for your class. These templates will: Demonstrate how you conducted a needs identification and assessment of the target audience; FtEh;[{plesin the purpose(s) of both activities you have created for each population and why you chose Describe the expected outcomes of the activities; List evaluation tools you can use to understand the effectiveness of your activity. Part 2 Activity Overview 5% Submit 2 Activity Overviews that you have created, one for each population you are working with. Part 3 Individual Evaluation 10% one rding your Facilitation of Ice Breaker In about a page, explain the SSW skills you'd use for making and leading group activities. Highlight your strengths demonstrated in the class activity you facilitated. Identify skills to build on and areas for growth in your upcoming practicum. Discuss the most challenging aspect of group facilitation for you and your plan to address it. Faculty will assess your engagement, enthusiasm, and facilitation skills using a posted rubric. In approximately one page, explain what SSW skills you think you would be utilizing in creating and facilitating group activities. Which of these skills are strengths of yours that you demonstrated when you facilitated your class activity? Which can be built on and which will require some growth and _ development in your second practicum. Finally, address which aspect of group facilitation will be the most challenging for you and what you believe you can do to address that challenge. Faculty will also be grading your facilitation based on engagement, enthusiasm and facilitation skills. A rubric will be posted.
