The group want to transform the way it provides as service to it tenants and that their approach will improve the social wellbeing of tenants renting from them. The charity organisation was established 35 years ago, with Howard-Spencer have been innovating and raising standards ever since. Their social housing properties have won awards for its quality and affordability. The organisation employs over 5,000 people, ranging from skilled trades people, to administrative, and professionally trained staff. The structure of the organization consists of three main divisions. These being: Finance & Corporate Services; Housing & Communities and Property Services and Development. The housing management information system is overseen by the IT department, which comes under the Finance and Corporate Services Division. The CEO Howard-Spencer, Janet Hotham, along with here management team have decided that the organisation should now invest in new MIS for managing the increasing complexity of prioritising and allocating social housing to those in need. A project committee has been formed to address this. Following the decision to have a new system, the Chief Financial Officer, Kim Follows, is in the process of forming a project team. A number of questions have arisen regarding which personnel would be most appropriate to join the team. It was recommended that as well as staff within the organisation should be selected, users of outside the organisation should also be considered. Three potential suppliers for the new system have been shortlisted. Due to the scale of the project, it is envisaged that the project will cost 1,850,000 and take 36 months for the system to be fully implemented. A breakdown of the expected benefits for each supplier have been calculated below. The project is expected to generate tangible benefits. After a recent meeting held with Janet and Kim, it was suggested by the IT manager, James Bell, that the project team should cover a variety of skills including (but not limited to) business analysis, software, hardware, and network. He also suggested that it would be a good idea for the project to employ new staff for this project. A decision for this has not vet been made
