PRACTICAL WORKPLACE LEARNING REFLECTION

Students are required to complete this reflection at the end of their Practical Workplace Learning placement.

The goal of the reflection is to give you, the student, an opportunity to think back on the experiences of the Practical Workplace Learning, evaluate how it went, consider how you might do things differently next time, and reflect on what you learned.

Write about 100 words per question.

1. Describe some knowledge or understanding you gained in your studies that you experienced in practice during your Practical Workplace Learning placement.

2. Reflect on an opportunity you had during your Practical Workplace Learning placement, to make a decision or a judgement ("make a call" on a situation). Describe the situation, evaluate the outcome, and reflect on what you learned.

3. Describe a situation during your Practical Workplace Learning placement where you had a problem. Were you able to solve the problem? How did you solve it? If you attempted to solve the problem and failed, what challenges and obstacles prevented you from succeeding?

4. Describe a technique or procedure that you learned about in your studies, which you had the opportunity to experience in practice during your Practical Workplace Learning placement. Reflect on whether it was any different in practice to what you had expected.

5. Describe something you designed or created during your Practical Workplace Learning placement. In what ways did it achieve its intended purpose? In what ways could you do better next time?

6. Describe a challenging emotion that surfaced during your Practical Workplace Learning placement. Describe what you did to manage or resolve this emotion.

7. Did you gain any new information during your Practical Workplace Learning placement - describe how

you discovered it and how you used it. Describe your experience and any lessons learned which youc ould implement in the future.
