Hoosier Burger Inventory Control System

Introduction:

Hoosier Burger food-ordering system generates two types of usage data,

o goods sold and

o inventory

• At end of each day, manager, (Bob) generates inventory report that tells him

o how much inventory should have been used

o items associated with each sale

The activities involved with the HB inventory control System is

1. Meet delivery trucks before opening restaurant.

2. Unload and store deliveries.

3. Log invoices and file in accordion file.

4. Manually add amounts received to stock logs.

5. After closing, print inventory report.

6. Count physical inventory amounts.

7. Compare inventory report totals to physical count totals.

8. Compare physical count totals to minimum order quantities. If the amount is less, make order; if not, do nothing.

9. Pay bills that are due and record them as paid.

Process: HB inventory control system

Entities can be: Supplier , Stock on Hand

For Level 0 DFD consider the following elements in DFDs:

• Possible Processes can be :
• Update Inventory Added
• Update Inventory Used
• Generate Payments
• Generate Orders

Possible data stores are: Inventory

Possible Inputs and Outputs between process and entities/ data stores are

1. Between Entity supplier and process Update inventory Added , input of data flow to process is Invoices
2. Between entity Supplier and process generate payments are input to process is invoices and output from process is payments
3. From process Updated Inventory added output dataflow Amounts Added to Inventory data store
4. Entity Stock on hand , dataflow count is input to Update inventory used process and from this process the output data flow is amounts used to data store Inventory.
5. Data store inventory two data flows inventory levels and minimum order quantities to generate order process and output dataflow is orders which connects supplier.

1. Draw context level diagram and level 0 data flow diagram by hand.
2. Draw this diagram using any software tool preferably draw.io
